A Garden, River Valley and Park: About stewardship and stewards

Organizer: Chinese Benevolent Association of Edmonton

Event is an actual example of stewardship presented with ideas of stewardship activities that one can do. Edmonton's Chinese Garden is ideal for discussion on stewardship of parks and greenspaces. A partnership between a non-profit society and City of Edmonton in which the former will build the garden and the latter provided park land in the river valley and maintenance. We will use this model to initiate conversation on stewardship of our community's parks, river valley, and ravines, and what we can do individually or collectively to preserve our green environments for the future. Fun Activity: Visit the Chinese garden and river valley in the park, take 3 selfies, write what you would do as stewards to preserve the garden and greenspaces and submit to organizer. See website for details. Special video feature: an Asian artist will demonstrate how to make a Chinese lantern bird feeder out of recyclable materials.
