Helping Nature

Organizer: Utta Gagel

Invaders in Our Parks! Invasive plant species are taking over and crowding out native plants in our forests! This results in less food, habitat and shelter for our birds, pollinators and wildlife. You Can Help! Join us from 2- 4 pm on June 4th to learn more about common invasive plants and then take action to remove them from Millview Park Site. Tasha, executive director of the Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver, will give a short talk on the harm caused to local ecosystems by invasive plants and how best to remove them. No tools? No problem! We have gloves and tools you can borrow or bring your own. Wear boots or sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Bring your family and friends to help out and connect with other members of the Cariboo Heights community. Children age 10 and up are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
