Heart of the City Conference

Heart of the City Conference will bring together 100 people dedicated to city parks across Canada. Join us as a delegate in Calgary, March 6-8 2017 for two days of learning, collaboration and relationship building. Together, we will explore how we can harness the power of city parks for all Canadians. There are several travel bursaries available for those who qualify.

Park People Toronto Summit

Every year for six years running, Park People hosts Canada’s largest gathering of park leaders and champions, planning and design professionals and city builders. Park People’s Toronto Park Summit highlights the innovative approaches and proven practices to address social, economic and environmental issues through the power of parks. This year’s Toronto Summit is scheduled for January 28, 2017 and will be held at Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park. Stay tuned for details.

Whether it’s going on a guided nature walk, watching a movie or getting your hands dirty in a community garden, there are activities and events happening in parks all year in Toronto.

We feature events hosted by local park friends groups,  Park People, the City of Toronto, and other organizations in our free, user-friendly Toronto Park Event calendar.  If you have an event you’d like to submit an event to the calendar, please fill out our event form

Park Talks, Forums and Workshops

Park People hosts events that help strengthen the efforts of community park groups. Topics range from Starting a Community Park Group to Marketing and Fundraising to sustain your group over time.

From Nov 11 to Feb 9, Park People is hosting Park Bench Sessions: A practical series to strengthen the work of community park groups. Sessions include: How to Create a Community Park Group, Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement, Fundraising and Marketing and Social Media for your Community Park Group.
