This destination is suitable for groups of children.

Enjoy a presentation about Ontario’s wildlife, followed by a 45 minute interactive nature walk and the chance to see the plants and animals living in the woodlands. A picnic in a shady rest area and outdoor games follow the walk.

Canada’s premier environmental and renewable energy education centre, the Kortright Centre for Conservation sits on 555 acres of pristine woodlands and is a natural oasis to experience nature. This trip includes a presentation about Ontario’s wildlife, hands-on learnings and life-like animal models. Suggested Itinerary

Select a meeting destination for your group and plan to arrive at the Kortright Centre at 10 a.m. The Kortright Centre is located 45 mins from Toronto, and 30 minutes from both Brampton and Markham. We suggest hiring a tour bus for the day.

Kortright Centre is located at 9550 Pine Valley Drive, Vaughan ON, L4L 1A6 and is not accessible by public transit. Parking is included in the price of admission and is available on site.

Morning Activities 
Begin the day with a presentation from one of Kortright’s experts about Ontario’s wildlife. This presentation includes hands on engagement, providing participants with opportunities to touch real animal fur, and view life-like models of animals that inhabit the property. On an easy 45-minute interactive nature walk, participants will learn interesting facts and stories about local trees, plants and wildlife while travelling through mature forests, grassy meadows and visiting a pond. The Archetype Sustainable House is your next destination. Participants view this state-of-the-art house to learn about the latest technologies making homes cleaner and safer for the environment and actions you can take to increase the sustainability of your own home.

After the tour, enjoy a lunch in a sheltered picnic area. Barbeques are not provided, but you are welcome to bring a charcoal barbeque with you for your group to use.

Afternoon Activities
Relax, play games and explore this beautiful property. Visit the gift shop before leaving to browse Canadian souvenirs, maple syrup products, handcrafted First Nations items, and Kortright Centre honey.

Entrance Fees
Admission for the guided tour is $8.50 per person, with a minimum of 20 participants required.

Hours of Operation
Open 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. every day. The Kortright Center is closed from just before Christmas to just after New Year every year and has extended hours during Maple Syrup festival in March.
