12 Community Safety Initiative
12 Community Safety Initiative (12CSI) is a local crime prevention collaborative that fosters community action on the issue of crime prevention by providing support, facilitation and advocacy. It operates in the communities of District 4 of the Calgary Police Service which are Abbeydale, Albert Park/Radisson Heights, Applewood Park, Calgary Marlborough, Crossroads (Mayland & Vista Heights), Dover, Erin Woods, Forest Heights, Forest Lawn, Marlborough Park, Penbrooke Meadows and Southview. Together, we work toward creating safer neighbourhoods using the actions of our Teams - Youth, Communications, Diversity, Community Action and Governance.
Our community initiative is focusing on a basketball summer camp that utilizes underused park and outdoor court areas. This focus aims to bring the youth in the community together in supporting physical activity through a no-cost summer experience.
