Accessible Nature Wellness Programs Inclusive of People with Disabilities

We encourage the active engagement of people with significant physical disabilities in their local parks or green spaces.

We are a group based out of the Independent Funding Resource Centre (IFRC) for people with disabilities in Vancouver. We collaborate with Technology for Living in offering peer-support to people with disabilities in Vancouver and across British Columbia. We also collaborate with EcoWisdom.ca in designing accessible online nature mindfulness and nature-connection programming to support physical, emotional and social wellbeing.

IFRC primarily supports people with disabilities who require the assistance of personal support workers and/or family caregivers for activities of daily living. We facilitate people with disabilities living independently in their communities through the use of an Independent Funding model for hiring their support workers. This allows us to choose where and when to receive the support we need - including in parks and other green spaces!
