Blank Canvases is an arts education programme using the inspiration of local Toronto artists as the impetus for our programming. Our goal is to expose community members to local cultural knowledge and connect participants to their surroundings through artistic engagement.
Our primary offering is an in-school programme that we offer across the GTA in which we have an official partnership with the TDSB and the TCDSB. Our programs reflect best practices in Arts Education, including open-ended choice making, an encouragement of individuality, fostering of expression, and a focus on process rather than a product. We also provide arts programming at events, corporate spaces and community festivals.
Additionally, Blank Canvases has a healthy, robust relationship community partners, offering multiple experiences of various events such as classes, workshops, and activities for all ages. Many local organizations have hired Blank Canvases to lead arts programming for culture events and festivals; City of Oakville, In/Future arts festival at Ontario Place, City of Toronto, Gap Kids, Girl Guides National Conference, Harbourfront Centre, OCADU GradX, and the Queen West Art Crawl.
