BurlingtonGreen Environmental Association
Established in 2007, we are a citizen-led, nonpartisan, registered charity. Through awareness, advocacy and action initiatives, we work with the community to protect the environment, mitigate climate change and to create a healthier, more environmentally responsible Burlington.
Every year, BurlingtonGreen hosts a city-wide Community Clean Up in an effort to retrieve litter from parks, creeks, school yards and neighbourhoods, while linking participants of all ages from various sectors to a hands-on, rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference.
BurlingtonGreen also hosts an annual community tree-planting event. Together with our volunteers and partners, we planted hundreds of 500 native tree species in Burlington parks. The Green Up Event provided a great opportunity for Burlington residents to get involved in a local stewardship project, while making a difference to help grow the urban tree canopy and replenish native species.
