Chinese Benevolent Society of Edmonton
The Chinese Benevolent Association of Edmonton is a not-for-profit organization started in 1929 to support the Chinese immigrants living in Edmonton. It has led the Chinese community in several major building projects over the years - the Chinatown Multicultural Centre, housing for Chinese seniors - Chinese Elders' Mansions Tower 1 and 2, Chinatown Care Centre, Chinese Seniors Lodge, to name a few. CBA has also hosted numerous China's national cultural performances in Winspear and Jubilee Auditorium, Chinatown conferences, K Day parades and Santa's Parade of Lights, Chinatown tours and outdoor events in public parks and squares over the years - such as ice sculptures, cultural performances for Canada Day Night Market with a community BBQ, Mid-Autumn Festival, and in 2018 introduced the Let's Get Active event for seniors and families - Canada Day Night Market, Mid-Autumn Festival and the Let's Get Active free, public events take place in a local park within Heritage Chinatown.
