Dallington Pollinators Community Garden

Our goal is to engage area residents, seniors, and youth to participate in community gardening, receive horticultural training, promote environment stewardship and to create opportunities for life-long health benefits and wellness. The naturalized garden space is used as an outdoor education centre for local school children where they explore and learn from nature. We want to empower community members to have access to fresh food and understand local food systems. We hope we can inspire community members to engage in rethinking development efforts and advocate for a synergy between ecological restoration, rebuilding water sensitive corridors and infrastructure development to reduce harmful effects of greenhouse gas emissions.
The communal garden was built in 2013 and has been awarded various awards, grants and funding streams for enhancing the scope of garden activities.
