Healing in Nature: Bereavement Network

Healing in Nature: Bereavement Network (HNBN) is a non-for-profit project that provides grief support using nature as a catalyst. Our aim is to launch walking groups in local parks for youth and adults who are grieving, including newcomers and refugees in the community.
Research has shown nature’s therapeutic effects which enhances the connection with our environment and ourselves. HNBN will promote nature-based activities through the direct use of parks to encourage connectedness between individuals, their experiences and their loss. Members will participate in group walks in local hiking trails and conservation areas in the Greater Toronto Area.
