Junction Triangle Social Butterflies Collective

Our ad hoc group of residents has worked to promote community pride, inclusivity, engagement and support in Toronto's Junction Triangle. Our community is diverse and has diverse needs; our work strives to make all our community members feel safe and connected.

Over the past several years, we have successfully facilitated park events such as our Easter Egg Hunt, Community LGBTQ2S Pride Picnic, Canada Day Fireworks and Potluck Picnic, and Pumpkin Parade through community donations.

Our events have successfully built community social capital for increased family and individual resiliency. They have led to projects supporting residents in need due to fire, providing employment, resources for refugees, support for isolated and new parents, and several other small and large initiatives that evolved from the connections made at these events. The Park People grant will help us further these community connections and support.
