Pebbles to Pearls Junior Youth Empowerment Program

The Pebbles to Pearls Junior Youth Empowerment Program gathers groups of junior youth in their own neighbourhoods, engaging them in a wide range of activities that include study, healthy recreation, arts, and community service. Group discussions are enhanced by a sequence of books designed to develop language, mathematical and scientific skills and to enhance the powers of expression. By designing, carrying out and evaluating service projects for the community, junior youth apply what they learn in meaningful action. The program is offered through a Toronto non-for-profit organization, Wordswell Association for Community Learning (https://www.wordswell.ca/pebbles-to-pearls), in partnership with Toronto Community Housing.
