Maple Ridge Youth Services

Maple Ridge Youth Services runs a Youth Mentorship Program which trains youth to become mentors in the local Youth Action Park - a multipurpose use park for skateboarding, scooting and bmx. Youth, 12-18 years of age, go through a five week training to learn how to use their positive influence to support a healthy culture in the park. Everyday throughout the months of May - September, youth and our Youth Services staff spend time in the Action Park setting a positive tone, encouraging safety, cleaning up any messes, initiating activities and teaching those newer to the sports. They are a mainstay in the park and look forward to their time spent there. Some of the more exciting activities they plan include skateboard or scooter competitions, free bbq's and summer send off activities.
