Musqueam Road Warriors

the Musqueam Road Warriors is comprised of 60 women/mothers/daughters from the Musqueam Indian band, and we formed the group in May of 2020 as a means to stabilize our mental health through physical wellnes, mental health support and virtual connection. Pacific Spirit is part of the unceded, ancestrial lands of our ancestors and we utilize this land to walk, to pursue medicines, and healing thru the use of the creeks. These land based walks have allowed us to maintain balance during the most stressful times of COVID. For example, on February 7th we participated in a walk on indigenous lands 5km/10km walk or run and challenged the ladies to take their camera on the walk and take images of places in the park that provice calm or healing. We coordinate these walks monthly and we also intend to use this grant to bring aboard facilitators, elders to teach the younger women, about medicines and trails in the park used by our grandmothers.
