North End Community Renewal Corporation (NECRC)
NECRC operates on principles of Community Economic Development using a development system approach to bring about renewal in the North End. Our seven development themes: housing, employment, culture and diversity, community, safety, economic and recreation and wellness combine to maximize the impact of our community initiatives.
Some of the outdoor and park related events and initiatives NECRC is involved with include:
NECRC partners with North End Residents Associations to help organize spring/summer community clean-ups.
NECRC host a North End Farmer's Market throughout the summer, where local vendors have an opportunity to meet community members ad sell their products.
NECRC also partners with a number of other non-profit organization to host the annual Picnic in the Park event. The Picnic in the Park is a free community event that started in 1999.
The Picnic celebrates the cultural diversity of the North End and aims to present a positive image of the community. The event includes free food, children’s activities, cultural entertainment, prizes, artist, and organization information booths.
