Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology and Human Rights (OCCPEHR)

The 29th annual Earth Week Clean Up of Nature Sites in Oakville will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 9-11 am at sixty various locations throughout Oakville.

We are the organizer of one of the largest annual Clean Ups in Canada.

THE GOALS OF THE ANNUAL CLEAN UP, include the following objectives:
1. To promote awareness and respect for nature and Oakville’s many waterways.
2. To beautify local neighbourhoods.
3. To build community through environmental activism.
4. To improve people’s health.
5. To protect wildlife.
6. And, to increase awareness about the need to protect biodiversity in Oakville.

A) Increased awareness.
B) Greater local environmental activism.
C) Increased volunteer participation.
D) Less and less garbage to remove from our parks, ravines, woodlots, trails and lakefront.
E) Wildlife is better protected.
F) $100,000+ taxpayer dollars are saved and thereby diverted to other pressing needs.
G) Local biodiversity is sustained.
H) Our community becomes healthier.
I) Property values are enhanced.
J) Fewer people litter in the future.
K) Green spaces are kept clean year round.
L) Coordinators often adopt the park they assist with.
