Overbrook Community Gardens
Overbrook Community Gardens began in 2013 with the help of volunteers, students, teachers and a land use agreement with the permission of the City of Ottawa. The site is located at the NE corner of the Overbrook Community Park.
We began with 24 gardens and expanded to 32. Our purpose is to promote healthy food, poverty reduction and responsible environmental behaviour in our community and beyond. Gardeners begin the season in late April and continue until mid October, depending on the weather. We offer workshops to our members and residents and are members of the Community Gardening Network of Ottawa. We are volunteers and welcome support to encourage gardening and beautification in our community.
