Shake Up the Establishment
Shake Up The Establishment is a non-partisan volunteer run organization that aims to help make Canada a leader in addressing the climate crisis by providing Canadians with scientifically-backed information on the issue to inform advocacy and political action.
Our organization’s goals are to promote informed advocacy and political action by providing
information on major political promises which address climate change, and we do so in a non-partisan manner. Moreover, we aim to increase awareness of the effects of climate change with scientifically-backed, credible information. Through the scientific and peer-reviewed sources which we promote, and the in-person events and educational resources we create, we will demand a climate action plan from political leaders that will reduce emissions and waste production, promote renewable energy and conservation, and support communities. Finally, through Shake Up The Establishment and those Canadians who follow our organization, we will work to hold the Canadian government accountable for their promises made towards climate action through concerted public pressure.
We aim to use these events to increase climate literacy, especially around health impacts from climate change. We plan to use a variety of fun outreach activities and games to share information on these topics.
