South Vancouver Family Place
South Vancouver Family Place (SVFP) has been providing strength-based support and capacity building programs for families and children 0 to 5 for over 43 years. We encourage peer-learning, assisted learning, and community responsibility to strengthen the capacity and confidence of our participants. The impact is that together we build and maintain a healthier community and the outcome is that families and children are better equipped to navigate social, emotional, economic and environmental challenges. Our preventative programs are critical in ensuring healthy outcomes for children and families. We offer a Drop-In service, early years development workshops, counselling and one-on-one parenting support for both South Vancouver and Fraserlands. In addition, SVFP operates a Preschool program with a capacity of working with 30 children per day. Our Preschool helps young children learn the basics of "learning and social behaviour" to ensure they are pre-equipt with the skills needed to have a positive and successful experience with entering elementary school for the first time.
