St. Luke Lutheran Community

St. Luke's strives to connect with neighbours and engage in community activities. Our Kid's Club meets every Friday, weather and province guidelines permitting, and frequently involves outings to the parks and ravines around us. This program is open to church members and members of the community alike, as we utilize our building, large green space, and the wonderful ravines and parks around us. We are working to expand this community engagement.

Recently, the vision and purpose of our community engagement has become more focused through the formation of a Property & Community Committee. This committee's purpose is to find new ways of serving neighbours and the community. These include the development of a large pollinator garden this spring, outdoor activities for kids in the adjacent Newtonbrook ravine like multi-generational clean-up days and crafts that support bees and native plants, and supporting the use of the Bayview Arena Bike/BMX Park, while continuing our current activities in nearby parks and ravines. Therefore, our purpose is to serve the community and help neighbours find ways of engaging with and caring about our shared corner in the world at Bayview and Finch.
