Trips By Transit

Trips By Transit is a non-profit based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Trips By Transit focuses on connecting people to nature/parks through guided walks, hikes, and adventures using our local public and active transportation systems. We believe the benefits of nature, movement, and community connection should be available to everyone, regardless of access to vehicles, equipment, or experience in the outdoors. We do this by running completely free, welcoming, skill-building programming. Over 26 partners in our community have trusted Trips By Transit to facilitate adventures, learning and engagement opportunities for their communities. Trips By Transit’s programming hosts a broad range of community members: from newcomers to Canada, students, young families, and elderly residents. We believe this is one of our specialities - reaching the individuals who typically would not be hikers, adventurers, and nature enthusiasts, and providing them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to access nature, engage in environmentalism and enjoy the wonderful parks in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
