Vision Of Hope Resource Centre

The Vision of Hope Resource Centre is one which was started in 2013 working with seniors, youth. children, families and individuals in the Brampton and the surrounding Peel area. This non-profit has a goal of changing the lives around them by placing the families and individuals first. Previously, the nonprofit has run many successful programs and projects including outdoor events in the parks and some recurring environmental projects such as community garden and backyard gardening. Some of key successes has been that these events and projects have benefited the residents of the community. Residents have the opportunity to participated learn new skills, build lasting relationship with other families in the community and developed the love for green space and the environment. These projects have also connected intergenerational learning. Youth and seniors sharing and learning together. Currently, VOHRC’s involvement in the Brampton area means that it serves the Black and racialized community seeing as 52% of the population in the city are not white. The non-profit in turn has specific programs to better help the population which has significant barriers which the nonprofit aids by running various programs. One of the most obvious is the Just 4 Youth program aimed towards the marginalized youth and led by black youths. This program has been shown to help the participants by giving them the skills which they need.
