West End Seniors’ Network
Our Vision: A Vancouver community that supports and empowers older adults to live involved, healthy and fulfilling lives.
Our Mission: To improve the quality of life of older adults by providing social, recreational, educational and supportive programs and services that foster connection and inclusion in the broader community.
The West End of Vancouver is home to more than 12,000 adults 55 years of age and older. West End Seniors' Network (www.wesn.ca) is a well-established hub for seniors in this densely populated neighbourhood. Through three locations and with more than 200 senior volunteers, we offer more than 60 programs, services and events to provide social and practical support to more than 850 members.
- Barclay Manor is home to our head office and the majority of our events, programs and services, including Life Unlimited (friendly visiting, grocery shopping and delivery, check-in phone calls and emails, accompaniment to medical appointments), Better at Home (light housekeeping, minor home repairs, transportation to medical appointments), Birthday Teas, Spanish classes, Happy Hookers knitting club, etc.
- Kay's Place is located in the Denman Place Mall. It provides Information and Referral services and includes a social gathering space. Senior Peer Support and Housing Support programs are coordinated through this location.
- Clothes and Collectibles is our thrift store located in the Denman Place Mall. For many seniors, this location provides opportunities for community inclusion through volunteer opportunities and the donation of clothing and housewares.
