Winnipeg Wildflower Project
Since 2019, Winnipeg Wildflower Project has been working to install seed plots with native wildflowers and grasses to establish a reliable source for seed harvesting. The plots are maintained with the help of volunteers and as seed becomes available it is collected and will be distributed around the community in urban prairie restoration projects. Being in public spaces, the plots also serve as great garden demonstration sites for how to support pollinators and provide wildlife habitat by bringing in native wildflowers.
