Change, Hope, and Tension*: Perspectives and Practices on Making Green Spaces BIPOC Inclusive

A Candid Conversation in Recognition of Park People’s 10 Year Anniversary

2021 marks Park People’s 10 year anniversary. Together with TD Bank Group, we’re recognizing the occasion with a webinar on creating BIPOC inclusion in parks and public spaces.

On October 21st, 2021 join Park People for a candid conversation with 3 distinguished panelists exploring the barriers and opportunities for creating parks as natural places for engagement across difference.

The panel will be moderated by Zahra Ebrahim, Park People’s Board Chair and CEO and Founder of Monumental.

The conversation will feature Chúk Odenigbo Founding Director of Ancestor Services at Future Ancestor Services Inc, Ambika Tenetti a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto researching connecting recent immigrants to nature in the city, and Carolynne Crawley, Founder of Msit No’kmaq.**

We hope you’ll join us for this important and timely conversation supported by Park People’s Founding Sponsor: TD Bank Group.

*The title of the webinar comes from Jay Pitter, MES, an award-winning placemaker whose practice mitigates growing divides in cities across North America. The origin of the title is from a 2017 interview that appeared on Park People's blog.

**Please note Carolynne Crawley is replacing Joce Two Crows Tremblay in the webinar.
