The Vancouver Sparking Change Senior Champions Program offers Metro Vancouver seniors training and support to host social activities in parks and green spaces. The program aims to foster aiming to foster social connections and physical activity among elders.

We're supporting seniors (55+) who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour), members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with disabilities to create a series of four or more fun activities in local parks and green spaces between July and December.

Senior Leaders will receive:

  • $600 honorarium  
  • Two days training workshop
  • Access to resources
  • Ongoing support from Park People staff
  • Mentorship from a previous senior leader
  • Seed funding towards materials, guest speakers, or refreshments for your park events
