Farm Tour and Vegetable Picking
Farintosh Farms, Gormley

About this Trip

Visit a 280-acre working vegetable farm, tour the fields with Farmer Guy Farintosh and enjoy fresh produce picked yourself or at the on-farm market.

Farintosh Farms is a family farm just north of Toronto, offering visitors a chance to pick their own produce and shop at an on-farm market. The 60 acres of vegetable crops are rotated over the 280 acre farm, with a reduced use of pesticides and fertilizer. This sustainable farm gives visitors a peak into where our food comes from and the hard work that goes into growing the vegetables we eat.

Suggested Itinerary

Plan to arrive at the Farm between 10 and 11 a.m. Farintosh Farms is located just about an hour out of Toronto, and less than 20 minutes from Markham. We suggest hiring a tour bus for the day.

Farintosh Farms is located at 11858 Warden Avenue, Gormley, ON L0H 1G0 and is not accessible by public transit. Free parking is available on site.

Morning Activities
Begin the day with a welcome from a member of the farm’s staff, who will tell you about the farm and give you a tour. Then, the group will be taken out into the fields to pick-your-own produce – green and yellow beans,Romano beans, callaloo,  tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, raspberries, zucchini, melons and squash. Please call to see what’s in season.

After vegetable picking, enjoy a picnic on the beautiful open space of the farm.

Afternoon Activities
Browse the farm market where participants can purchase fresh watermelon, raspberries, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, cantaloupe, carrots, cucumber and more. Sweet corn is the cornerstone of the farm market, and you will be amazed to hear that Farintosh Farm grows 15 different varieties of both bi-color and yellow sweet corn, spread over the season. Besides the farm’s own produce, the Farm Market has a selection of local fruit, vegetables and honey.
