Together, let’s celebrate Montreal’s park friend groups! The Montreal Park People Network is thrilled to invite you to a festive gathering at la TOHU in Frédéric-Back Park on Thursday, October 5, 2023, starting at 3:30 pm.
Join us for the 3rd edition of the Montreal Park Forum to connect with like-minded enthusiasts, professionals, and dedicated citizens who share a passion for Montreal’s parks and green spaces. This free and welcoming event offers a fantastic networking opportunity to make valuable connections and help you better activate your local park in Montreal.
The 3rd Montreal Park Forum will be held in French. La TOHU is accessible to people with limited mobility. The optional park tour, however, involves walking on gravel paths.

3:30 pm | Check-in for guided tour participants
3:45 pm & 4:00 pm | Guided tours of Frédéric-Back Park
Two hour-long guided tours with a maximum of 20 people are scheduled: one starting at 3:45 p.m. and the second at 4:00 p.m.
Explore the paths of Frédéric-Back Park. From a former quarry to a landfill site, learn how this unique area is gradually transformed into a large public park dedicated to the environment, culture, sports and leisure.
4:30 pm | Networking & Exploring initiatives for Montreal’s urban parks
Enjoy diverse, joyful activities and connect with other Montreal Forum attendees, including:
- – Members and leaders of community park groups
- – Representatives from the City of Montreal,
- – Professionals and experts in Montreal’s urban parks,
- – Members of park-related nonprofits and organizations,
- – The entities organizing the Montreal Forum: Park People, Montreal Urban Ecology Center, Les Amis de la montagne and the Montreal Regional Environmental Council.
This will also be a great opportunity to learn more about the great initiatives of the Montreal Park People Network.
6:00 pm | Wold Café workshop hosted by les Amis de la montagne
Share your challenges, thoughts, and experiences during discussion groups led by experts in urban parks from les Amis de la montagne.
In the World Café format, engage in conversations on various topics such as volunteer engagement, funding for park friend groups, advocating issues to decision-makers, or ecological restoration. Dynamic format and enriching exchanges are to be expected!

FAQ
Forum accessibility
La TOHU is accessible to people with limited mobility. The optional park tour, however, involves walking on gravel paths that may be difficult to access. The tour will last about an hour by walk.
I’m not participating in the guided tour. What time should I arrive?
The guided tour of Frédéric Back Park is optional. If you don’t want to or can’t take part, you can join us at 4:30 p.m. for the start of the networking activities.
Will the forum be held in case of bad weather?
Yes, the forum will take place on the same date in case of bad weather. Please dress appropriately for the weather (umbrella, waterproof jacket, waterproof shoes) for all activities, considering the event is held in a semi-covered outdoor area.
