Chato Rene Melara is an artisan from Panchimalco, El Salvador, who has lived in Tiohtià:ke for over 15 years. He is dedicated to renewing and practicing sustainable traditional ways of living. Through Atelier Tlachiuak, a collective supporting unhoused Indigenous artists, Chato helps nurture a community garden with traditional plants—growing food, culture, and connection.
