Successful applicants host at least two in-person and/or virtual activities between April 22 and December 31, 2024, with each event open to all members of the public. Eligible groups include volunteer-based park groups, local agencies, resident associations and non-profits that are active in their local parks. Your group must also demonstrate its ability to sustain the group beyond this grant cycle.

- Thunder Bay,
- Guelph,
- Ottawa,
- Quebec:
- Greater Montreal,
- Quebec City,
- Gatineau,
- New Brunswick: Fredericton,
- Prince Edward Island: Charlottetown,
- Nova Scotia: Halifax Regional Municipality.
Who can apply:
- Grassroots community groups include, but are not limited to, volunteer-based park groups, local agencies, resident associations, and not-for-profit groups active in their local parks.
- Partnerships of any or all of the above are encouraged to apply.
- Your group must also demonstrate its ability to sustain the group beyond this grant cycle.
- Groups should demonstrate their commitment to caring for the park’s green space.
- Our commitment is to award at least half of the grants to equity-deserving groups.
Events:
- Events can be in-person or virtual.
- If hosting an in-person event, you must follow your city's public health guidelines at the time of the event. Events must be free and open to the public.
- Events must abide by all local laws and permit requirements.
Eligible Expenses:
The grant can cover any event expense, including, but not limited to, honoraria for volunteers, event materials, supplies, and equipment, and printing of promotional materials.
Project reports:
Applicants must complete an event summary after each event (a link will be provided).
