Netami Stuart is Senior Project Manager, Toronto Island Projects at the City of Toronto Parks and Recreation Division. She is responsible for the implementation of a 25-year vision for the development and resilience of Toronto Island Park. Both professionally and as a volunteer, Netami has made urban ecology and Toronto’s public parks her passion for over twenty years. As a landscape architect and arborist, Netami weaves living systems, design thinking, and delight into her work in Toronto’s public sector.
Previous to her current job, Netami worked for Waterfront Toronto as the Senior PM responsible for the design and construction of Biidaasige Park and the new mouth of the Don River. As a designer and ecologist, Netami has worked in the private sector for PMA Landscape Architects, Ecoplans and Urban Forest Associates. Supporting the integration of design and stewardship, Netami represented the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects on the Board of the Ontario Parks Association for three years.
