Supporting Residents and Community Groups to Activate Parks

Great parks reflect the communities they serve. Together in Parks helps Torontonians eager to get involved in urban green spaces, whether you’re part of a community group, looking to start one, or have a new idea for your local park.

Through a number of resources, we’re helping you navigate City processes and organize events and programs that foster belonging and connection.

“When neighbours can gather, organize, and care for their parks, something bigger takes shape — community gardens, walking groups, clean-ups, and a stronger sense of community. What starts in the park carries outward.”

Together in Parks is a collaboration between the City of Toronto’s Parks & Recreation Division and Park People. Together, we’re making it easier for residents and community groups to play an active role in animating parks across the city.

    What the Program Offers

    • One-on-one coaching to help groups organize and grow
    • Peer learning opportunities to connect with and learn from other park leaders
    • Toolkits, guides, and step-by-step support to help navigate City processes, run activities, and get more involved
    • Simplified processes and support to reduce barriers to park programming, such as accessing permits

    Need support? Please Reach Out.

If you’re organizing activities or projects in Toronto’s green spaces and looking for support along the way, we can help you navigate the park permit process, answer your questions, and connect you with the resources you need to grow your efforts. InTO the Ravines creates opportunities for Torontonians to come together to explore the ravines, learn about their social and ecological benefits, and champion their preservation.

The InTO the Ravines Champions program offers people living near ravines training and support to learn, explore, and celebrate Toronto's one-of-a-kind ravines system.

TD Park People Grants support local leaders to organize environmental education, sustainability or stewardship events that bring people together across Canada.
